We are proud to confirm that we have maintained our status as a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor
Calgro M3 recognises the importance of embracing the principals of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (“B-BBEE”) Act as set out by the South African Government across all levels within the Group. The Group views the B-BBEE principles as an opportunity to contribute to building an empowered nation.
For us, transformation goes beyond compliance with legislation and regulations. Our goal is to create a truly transformed organisation where we empower our stakeholders to fulfil their purpose. Our commitment is to ensure that our organisation’s culture aligns with this goal. We understand that the broader transformation of society cannot take place, unless large institutions like ours play a major role.
The Groups procurement strategy focuses on empowering suppliers who share our commitment to the principals of B-BBEE within their organisations. Specific focus is placed on the growth and development of local SMMEs through training and mentoring programmes.
The Groups Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are closely aligned to the upliftment of the communities in which we operate in, and focus on educational, sport and social needs of our stakeholders.
An increased focus on the Group’s workforce over the past year has resulted in the transformation of our current workforce demographics being closely aligned to the national demographics of South African society in terms of the reported economically active population. The Group only recruits new personnel in line with our recruitment policy which incorporates the Groups commitment to the principals of B-BBEE.
During the year, Calgro M3's efforts were recognised by being named the “Top Empowered Company” in the Infrastructure Sector at the Top Empowerment Companies Awards. This is a proud testament of Calgro's integrated approach to Empowerment.
